WHO WE HOLD

Women reshaping the world, at the point of burnout.

We believe that lasting change is possible when we invest in the women cultivating a more just and liberated future. Our Sanctuaries, in Washington State and Mexico, are open to all women doing this work, and we prioritize Black and Indigenous women.

They are extraordinary. They are also exhausted.

WHY THEM, WHY NOW

They are remaking the systems that shape all our lives while carrying the weight of systems never built for them to thrive. They are extraordinary. They are also exhausted.

What stands between them and rest is not personal. It is structural. Rest costs money and time most cannot spare, and the places built for restoration were rarely designed for them.

When we lose a woman to burnout, we lose the institutional memory she carried, the trust she built with a community over years, the relationships that took a decade to earn. We lose capacity for the change itself.

HOW SHE COMES TO US

Not by application. By someone who knows her.

1

Our network of partners, including Wild Seed Liberation Land, and the movement networks she already belongs to, nominate women carrying the most and resting the least.

Nominated

2

We look for women reshaping the world who are in critical need of rest, at points of burnout.

3

When cost is the deciding barrier, we sponsor her fully: stipend, travel, meals and lodging. She does not have to choose between rest and rent.

Nominate a woman

We are not currently accepting applications. Women come to us by nomination, because the people who know someone’s work usually know when she is running on empty. If you are thinking of someone who needs this, tell us about her. And if the woman you are thinking of is you, write to us. Knowing who needs sanctuary shapes how we grow.
